[ワシントン ２６日 ロイター] - 米フロリダ州マイアミに駐在するイスラエル総領事は２６日、同州のデサンティス知事がイスラエルへの武器や弾薬の輸送を促進するために総領事館と調整したとする知事側の主張に反論した。

デサンティス氏の報道官は先に、知事室がイスラエルにドローン（無人機）や防護服、ヘルメットを送るために貨物機を契約し、民間組織を通じて武器や弾薬を届けるよう取り組んだと述べていた。

一方、エルバズスタリンスキー総領事はロイターのインタビューで、ライフル部品を載せた航空機について知事室と一度連絡を取ったことはあるが、民間組織を通じてイスラエルに武器や弾薬を送るよう知事と協力した事実はないと反論。デサンティス氏側が複数のイスラエル政府機関に接触し、イスラエル保健省が要請した医療物資の輸送を支援したと述べた。

デサンティス氏は２０２４年大統領選の共和党予備選候補の中で、最も強いイスラエル支持の姿勢をアピールしようとしている。
